As I have been going through blogs in the Followlist.com dofollow blog list, I see there are a large number of Blogger blogs in the list.  Blogger blogs, like self hosted WordPress Blogs are nofollow by default.

In order to get your Blogger blog accepted into my dofollow directory, not only do you have to make your blog dofollow, you also have to setup your comments correctly.

To change a Blogger blog from nofollow, to dofollow, you must modify the template that you are using.  Every time you change the template on your blog, you will have to manually change the template to be nofollow.

Here is how to do that.

Login to your Blogger account, click on “Settings”, click on “Layout”, then “Edit HTML”.  Now we will find the rel=’nofollow’ tag and remove it.

In your browser do an Edit – Find and look for rel=’nofollow’.  It will look something like this.

Remove DoFollow from Blogger

Delete the “rel=’nofollow’”, and nothing else.  I would also do another Find to make sure you found all instances of rel=’nofollow’ and removed them.

Save the template.

Okay, the first step is now complete, but there is another step that is required in order for the blog to be accepted in my directory.  Right now the comments are dofollow, but the comments point to only Blogger profiles, so links are not pointed directly to a commentors website.

Now, we will setup the comments to allow commentors to point to their website.

Go to “Settings”, then “Comments”.  Under “Who Can Comment?”, select “Anyone – Includes Anonymous Users” like below.

Save the settings.  Now, when someone attempts to leave a comment, they will have the option to comment using a Name/URL, see below.  Any Blogger blog that does not have the Name/URL option, along with not being dofollow, will not be approved.

As we known, meta keyword is one important way to optimize your website search ranking. Search engines use meta keyword to filter sites for the search result of query occurred by their search tool. If your keywords is bad, click rate of your site in search result low, your rank will be lower, lower and may be banned out of the list. So, is meta-keyword important?

1. First, sign in to blogger; at Dashboard, click "Layout" tab; then click "Edit HTML".
2. Find this line of code :

You could press Ctrl+F to use "Find" function of your browser.

3. Copy three line below and paste after the line we found at step 2.

4. Replace the words in red with your appropriated content.

Now your blog will get high rank as compared to your old blog with not meta tags. This will increase your search engine traffic.

Go to http://draft.blogger.com/ to log in to Blogger in Draft. (If you’ve never been there before, Blogger in Draft is just like regular Blogger, except with new, in-development features like this one.) Click on your blog’s “Layout” link to go to the Layout tab. The link to the Template Designer is at the end of the row of sub-tabs.
 

You can use the live preview to see your new template without affecting your blog. When you find a new look that you’re happy with, just click the “Apply to Blog” button to publish it to the world. Note: You can backup your existing template ahead of time by going to Layout > Edit HTML. We recommend this if you have a customized blog design that you might want to go back to.

Classic template blogs: If you have a “Template” link or tab instead of “Layout,” you’ll first need to switch from Classic to Layouts before you can try out the Template Designer.
